Janice Mae Walton, 85, of Teays Valley, formerly of Campbells Creek, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Thursday, January 25, 2024, with her family by her side. She was born in War Eagle, Mingo County, to the late Earl and Ethel Cline.
In addition to her parents, Jan was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Berman Walton; son, Keith Walton; and brothers, Charles Cline and Jerry Cline.
Jan was employed at Malden Floral for over 20 years. She will be remembered for many things, but most importantly for her generosity towards others. She loved to cook and was the type of woman who would give you the shirt off her back. Along with making meals for others, she enjoyed crocheting, reading and attending her home church, Teays Valley Baptist.
Jan’s greatest love was her family. She loved spending time with them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the first one the kids would run to for a hug and a piece of candy.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Kimberly Meadows (Jeff) of Teays Valley; sister, Dottie Carter of Justice; grandchildren, Amber Short, Kristen Haught, Sean Walton, Lindsay Howerton, Tara McClain and Sydnee Burns; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be at 12:30 p.m., Monday, January 29, 2024, at Stevens and Grass Funeral Home at 4203 Salines Drive, Malden, WV 25306, with Pastor Tyler McClain officiating. Burial will follow at Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery at 130 Academy Drive, Dunbar, WV 25064.
Friends and family may gather at the funeral home, Monday, January 29, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
