She was born May 27, 1942, and was the daughter of the late Lonnie (Buzz) and Edith Hundley. Donna is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ronnie Stover and sister, Delores Skiles.
Survivors left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Lisa and husband, Eddie; son, Kenny Akers (Dennis); nephew, Rick Skiles (Alice); great-nephews, Jonah (Sydney) Skiles, Seth Skiles; great-grandnephew, Tucker Roy Skiles; and her beloved Shih-Tzu, Oliver.
Donna was blessed with countless friends who were always considered her family and she was a second Mom to many of Lisa’s friends. Donna was raised at Campbell’s Creek and was a resident of Kanawha City. She was a 1960 graduate of DuPont High School. After 36 years as a Kindergarten Aide, Donna retired from the Kanawha County Board of Education. She continued to work at Morris Memorial Enrichment Center until January, 2023. Donna’s faith played a significant role in her everyday life. She was a member of Morris Memorial United Methodist Church, attending until she was no longer able and she remained a devout Christian until death. While attending Morris Memorial, Donna played an integral role in the Good News Team as Team Leader, where she shared many memories and formed everlasting friendships. Donna also enjoyed being involved in the Amous Walk for many years.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Donna’s memory to either Clay County Health Center or Hubbard Hospice House of Charleston.
The family would like to thank friends and members of the Good News Team for being by her side at this difficult time. Special thanks to the Staffs of both Clay County Health Center and Hubbard Hospice House of Charleston for their attentive care.
A visitation with family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden. A Celebration of Donna’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 11, 2023, at the funeral home with Rev. Bill Hundley and Rev. Chuck Pullins officiating. Burial will follow at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
