Dewey Lee Henson Sr.

He was born June 15, 1929, in Charleston and was the son of the late Dewey B. and Beulah Smith Henson.

Dewey was a retired technician from the WV Army National Guard and a member of Georges Creek Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.

Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Henson; and a son, Phillip Henson.

Dewey is survived by daughter, Sheryl Hogan of Zebulon, North Carolina; son, Dewey Lee Henson Jr. of Sissonville; six grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2015, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, with Pastor James Hill officiating. The entombment with Military honors will follow the service in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.

Family and friends will gather for the visitation on Friday, June 5, from 6:00 to 8:0 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Dewey’s honor to Hubbard Hospice House, 1001 Curtis Price Way, Charleston, West Virginia 25311.
