Chad is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ed and Roena Wolfe (Papaw and Mamaw Wolfe), Woody and Mildred Gill (Papaw and Mamaw Gill), great grandparents, Arlond and Belva Ratliff (Papaw and Mamaw Ratliff).
He was a 1998 Graduate of University of Charleston with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology and Chemistry, and a member of Kappa Delta Rho Fraternity.
He Joined the United States Air Force in December of 1998, where he was a marksman, specializing as a Medical Materiel Journeyman, through February 2002.
During this time, he received an Outstanding Unit Award for 2000 Inauguration and was an Honor Graduate from Basic and Technical School.
Chad was in the clinical research field as a Senior Clinical Research Associate for over 15 years where he specialized in reseal for oncology, and other clinical studies.
He was a fun-loving, caring son, brother, uncle and friend to all who knew him.
He has taken a piece of our hearts with him that can never be replaced.
Chad always had a way to make people laugh, special sayings and unique names for every car that he or his family owned.
He was an avid reader, bringing home books at the end of every school year just for fun.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Allen and Judy Wolfe of Campbell’s Creek, Sister (Sis) Kara Garten of Charleston, his beloved niece and nephew, Kailey and Jared Garten, who he cherished and adored and would have given them the world if he could, and he did try. They truly were the light of his life; uncles and aunts, David and Nancy Shifflet of Charleston, Lee and Stacy Gill of Campbell’s Creek; a lifetime best friend, through the good times and bad, Christy Grealis of Nashville, TN; a multitude of cousins; family members and friends.
Funeral service to honor the life of Chad, will be 11:00am, Monday, October 24, 2016 at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, with Rev. Ira Keller officiating.
Burial will follow at Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar.
A visitation with family and friends will be Sunday, October 23, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at the funeral home.
