Barbara Lou Wilkinson-Ferrell of Campbells Creek (Charleston), born February 14, 1940. daughter of the late Fred Wesley Wilkinson and Mable Lucille Smith, passed away at her home on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at 11:45 p.m.
Barbara was a member of Point Lick Gospel Tabernacle for years until falling ill to dementia. Barbara was a secretary for several years for Cook Motor Line Company and a Kanawha County School cook where the kids called her Mrs. Cook. Barbara spent most of her life at the Northeast ball fields on Campbells Creek while rooting her sons baseball teams on and also fixing snow cone syrup for the concession stand.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband, John Ralph Ferrell (which she met 72 years ago); her three sons, Fred Dale (Deanna) of Florida, Joey Jay (Jill) of Cincinnati and Lionel “Sam” (Mark) of Dunbar. Barbara has 4 grandsons, Dustin (Erin), Jonathan (Meredith), Halley (Chelsie) and Ryan (Barbie); and 6 great-grandchildren, Adelyn, Daisy, Brandt, Audrey, Lydia and Lily Fern.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, with Rev. Mike Long and Rev. Larry Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow.
A visitation with family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service.
