He was retired from Sheet Metal Local #33; he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends. He was a US Marine Veteran.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Lisa “Babycakes” Chapman; sons, Eddie Wayne and Mike Chapman, both of Charleston; daughter, Lisa Chapman of Charleston; brothers, Dayle Chapman of Charleston and Kenny Chapman of Amma. He had seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and his best friend, Sadie Mae. He was especially close to two grandsons, Austin Chapman and Derrick Butts.
At Ed’s request, cremation has been honored and a Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 21, 2023, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, with Pastor Dana Clay officiating.
A Committal Service with Military Rites will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar.
Family and friends may gather from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of VA Home Base Team and Kanawha Hospice for their excellent care of Big Ed.
