Chuck was born in Radford, Virginia on November 22, 1951, son of the late Milton and Ellen Young. He was also predeceased by his in-laws, Lincoln and Beulah Martin.
Chuck was currently employed by CVCC. He loved sports and enjoyed being a public address announcer for many years for UVA athletics and Lynchburg Baseball Corporation. He was a member of Madison Heights Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Jeffrey Martin Young (Brenda) and Janet Young Jackson (Shane), two sisters, Sallie Robertson (Doug) and Susan Young; his dearly beloved grandchildren, Anna Grace Young and Jackson “Jack” Thomas Young; his wife’s siblings, Becky Ashwell (Allen) and Richard Martin (Bev) as well as an aunt, numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Pastor Steve Tyree officiating. Burial will follow at Amherst Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
