Born on August 12, 1947 in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Theodore C. Swift and Vera M. Swift. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Faye Swift.
Ted loved all things NASCAR, going fishing and enjoyed tending to his garden. He was known to have an extraordinary green thumb and could get anything to grow and thrive. He had a great sense of humor and will be greatly missed by his family.
He is survived by his three children, Jennifer Moore (CT) of Amherst, Angela Swift (Dale Leach) of Hubert, NC and James Swift (Kim) of Lynchburg; siblings Bobby Swift, Dorothy Daniel and H.T Swift; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service celebrating his life will be conducted on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel. Interment will follow at Monroe Church of God Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 28, 2023 from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
