Shirley Ramsey Burns, 86, of Madison Heights, Virginia passed away at her residence with her family by her side on November 1, 2023. Born in Lynchburg on March 16, 1937, she was the daughter of Joseph and Zelma Ramsey.
Shirley was known as a tough lady and a rock to her family. She was the loving matriarch of her family and was called “MawMaw”. She was loved and adored by everyone and MawMaw had so much love for all. She would always say that she loved you and wanted a hug from everyone.
Shirley loved to crochet and sew. She would sew and make clothes for everyone. She was big into cross word puzzles, word searches, and coloring books. MawMaw was very meticulous when it came to events and making memories.
Shirley would love to cook home cooked meals, the food prepared was always made with love and happiness.
Shirley leaves behind her love and memories to her son, Aubrey Burns, her grandchildren she loved so much, Joey Burns and his wife Shannon, along with Breanna Burns. She also leaves behind her great granddaughters, Kloey, Kaylin, and Kenzy Burns.
Shirley is welcomed into Heaven by her parents, Joseph and Zelma Ramsey along with her siblings.
A visitation to celebrate Shirley’s life will be held on Monday, November 6, 2023 at Whitten Monelison Chapel in Madison Heights Virginia from 6 pm to 8 pm.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at Virginia Memorial Park in Forest Virginia at 10 am.
