Rose Lawson Lawson White

Rose was born on February 7, 1944, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was a retired school bus driver with Amherst County Public Schools and was a member of Central Baptist Church in Lowesville.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her adoptive parents, George W. and Elsie A Lawson; and her brother, Norman Lee Vogel.

Rose is survived by her daughter, Sona Bartley and husband, Larry of Amherst; two sisters, Betty J. Swanson of South Carolina and Ruby R. Hartbereger of Madison Heights; eight grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; and beloved friends, Evelyn Campbell of Amherst and Maggie Nicely of Cumberland, Va.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, July 31, 2017, at Central Baptist Church, with Pastor Gary Thomas Anderson officiating.

Rose had a special love and place in her heart for miniature donkeys, therefore,the family requests memorial contributions may be made to the Virginia Donkey Rescue, 414 Stonewall Road, Concord, VA 24538, or Central Baptist Church, 103 Central Church Lane, Lowesville, VA 22967.
