

Born November 21, 1935 in Madison Heights, he was the son of the late William Jackson Riner and the late Carrie Wood Riner and was also preceded in death by three sisters, Alice Bryant, Agnes McAlexander, and Lucille McAllister; two brothers, Tommy Riner and Roy Riner; three nephews, Alfred Bryant, Clayton Bryant, and Miles McAlexander, Jr. and a special friend, Marshall Dalton. Mr. Riner was a retired Engineering Designer with Wiley & Wilson with thirty-seven years of service and also retired from V-Dot after five years of service. He was a member of Madison Heights Christian Church and was recently attending Grace Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Riner is survived by two daughters, Joy Lee Riner af Madison Heights and Cheree Riner Taylor and husband Scott of Monroe; two grandchildren, Sophia Taylor and Stormy Taylor; a niece, Jean Springer; two nephews, T.W. Riner and Wayne McAlexander and other nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with the Rev. Dan Lee and the Rev. John Pickett officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
