Born in Wabash, Indiana, November 23, 1965, Randy is the son of Janice K. Tolliver Robinson of Lynchburg and the late Ernest L. Robinson.
Always studious and committed to giving his best, Randy graduated Valedictorian from Richlands High School. Randy attended the University of Virginia and obtained a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering. He spent most of his 20+ year career in Operational Leadership roles. Prior to his illness, he served as Director of Operations for Barry-Weihmiller's Lynchburg plant. Committed to excellence, Randy always strove to help his workplace and those around him succeed.
From his youth, Randy had a love for cars and motorcycles. Growing up, he could be found riding the backroads of the Appalachian Mountains. His love of a beautiful drive and fixing up classic vehicles continued into adulthood, especially with his 1966 Mustang, Lilly. Randy not only enjoyed working on his vehicles but also on projects around his home. From building a beautiful fireplace mantle to remodeling a bathroom to landscaping to repairing various wear and tear, Randy could do it all and took pride in using his own hands to better his home for his family. Randy was an avid musician from a young age as well, playing guitar, drums, and singing for various music groups as well as leading worship at church and serving the Lord through music ministry. Randy also enjoyed peaceful days fishing on a lake, enjoying most those spent with his son, and telling silly jokes to make his daughter smile. Most of all, Randy loved time spent with his family and delighted in creating special memories with them.
Randy was a faithful friend, a kind heart, and a genuine servant, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. His humor, jokes, and laughter brought joy to those around him. He was a man devoted to his family, dedicated to working hard to provide for them, and most importantly, committed to nurturing them in the Lord. Above all, Randy loved Jesus with his whole heart and desired to know Him better, to honor Him, and to share Him with others. It was his joy to study God’s Word deeply and to draw ever-nearer to his Savior.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Robinson; two children, Tabitha Zimmerman and her husband Austin of Rustburg and Aaron Robinson of Madison Heights; granddaughter, Naomi Lynnette Zimmerman; his mother, Janice Robinson; his brother, D’wayne Robinson of Canfield, OH and a number nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest L. Robinson and grandson, Dean Ellis Zimmerman.
