Nancy Burks Webster, 80, of Amherst passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2023. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years husband Gene Perry Webster, her father Herbert E. Burks and her mother Sammie Sheppard Burks.
Born on March 26, 1943 Nancy embraced her love of the outdoors, finding joy in mowing her own lawn on her new John Deere mower and caring for her flower beds. The allure of nature’s embrace captivated her, leading her to embark on adventurous journeys, including a memorable road trip to Alaska in a motor home. After dedicating years of service as a pharmacy technician at CVTC, Nancy transitioned into a well-deserved retirement. Alongside her professional journey, she found solace and community as a cherished member of Randolph Memorial Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband and parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her brother, Gene Burks; her sisters Jane Davis, Helen Burks, Ann Hanna, and Betty Puckett, and an infant great-grandchild Angel in Heaven.
Those left to cherish Nancy’s memory include her children Greg E. Grubbs and his wife Melody, E.W. Grubbs and his wife Stephanie; her siblings Shirley Lane, Pat Spitler; her grandchildren Ashley Wallace and her husband Jon, Amber Grubbs, Taylor Grubbs and his wife Destiny, Christopher Grubbs and his wife Casey, Hannah Mason; and her great-grandchildren Craig Nichols, Nolan Graham, Colson Grubbs and Brooklyn Jade.
A Celebration of Nancy’s life will be held Monday, June 26, 2023 at 11:00 am at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Pastor Derek Hamby officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Briarwood Memorial Gardens.
