Born in Lynchburg, July 24, 1966, he was the son of Friend M. “Junior” Staton of Madison Heights and the late Shirley Coleman Staton.
In addition to his father, Michael is survived by his wife, Angie Harper; three daughters Lauren Staton, Brandy Souza and her husband Joe and Danielle Staton; two sisters, Wanda McCormick and Rose Harper; two brothers, Jimmy Crist and Curtis Staton; grandchildren, Dakota Campbell, Kylee Souza, Alexis Staton and Austin Souza and his mother-in-law, Linda Harper.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one brother, Danny Staton, one sister, Shirley J. Staton, one nephew, Bruce Staton and his father in law, Reuben Harper.
Michael loved his children and grandchildren and he took and maintained many pictures of his family. He will be remembered for always putting the needs of others before his and his love of country music.
To celebrate Michael’s life, the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
