Michael Hampton Cunningham

Michael Hampton Cunningham, 53, of Forest, was taken to his eternal heavenly home on Thursday, November 15, 2018. Mike fought a long courageous battle with Melanoma until the Lord called him home. He was the loving husband of Holly Thomas Cunningham.

Born on March 9, 1965 in Lynchburg, he was the son of Samuel Cunningham and Sandra Santini.

Mike was a graduate of Amherst County High School and a member of Smyrna United Methodist Church in Monroe. He was the owner of Cunningham Builders, Inc. Mike was a talented builder and loved building houses. He always had a beautiful vision and he had a passion for working on vehicles.

Mike is survived by his wife, Holly Thomas Cunningham; son, Kaden Michael Thomas Cunningham; his father, Samuel and Connie Cunningham; his mother, Sandra and Arthur Santini; brothers, David Cunningham and wife Melanie and Chris Cunningham and wife Carrie; sister, Katina Cunningham; aunt, Wylene Shields and husband Darrell; father and mother-in-law, Fred and Janet Thomas; special friends, Allison Dixon and Randy Higgins; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Whitten Monelison Chapel and at the residence of Arthur and Sandra Santini.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Monday, November 19, 2018 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Rev. Charles Oliveri officiating and assisted by Rev. Dr. Michael Fitzgerald. Interment will follow at Smyrna United Methodist Church Cemetery.
