Mary Mildred Windsor, 92, of Lynchburg, passed away, Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at the Campbell Rest Home in Bedford. She was the wife of the late Russell Lee Windsor. Born June 22, 1921, in Appomattox, she was the daughter of the late Gus Daniel Farrar and the late Bertha Ann Almond Farrar.
Mary was a retired shoemaker for Craddock-Terry and a member of Mountain View Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was preceded in death by one son, Russell G. Windsor; one grandson, Brian Windsor; and twelve siblings, George Farrar, Emmett Farrar, Josephine Thompson, Ronald Farrar, Jessie Phelps, Mamie Black, David Farrar, Rueben Farrar, Randolph Farrar, Robert Farrar, Baker Farrar and Julian Farrar.
Mary is survived by one son Dennis W. Windsor (Susan) of Monroe; one sister, Madeline Cash of Madison Heights; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted, 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 13, 2014, at Whitten Monelison Chapel with the Rev. Jim Whitaker officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Thursday, June 12, 2014, at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
