Lucy was born September 5, 1939 in Amherst, Virginia to Eldridge and Blanche (Mays) Stinnett. Lucy was a loving mother, grandmother and wife, being married John T. Fuqua, Jr. for over fifty seven years. She worked as a supervisor for Valtim Marketing until retiring at the age of 62. She was an active member of New Beginning Tabernacle in Madison Heights, Virginia.
Lucy is survived by her daughter Barbara Fuqua Loving of Winston Salem, North Carolina, son John Thomas Fuqua III and wife, Karyn of Lynchburg, Virginia; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; her brother Ralph Stinnett and sister Margaret Francis, and other loving relatives and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband John T. Fuqua, Jr., parents, Eldridge and Blanche Stinnett, her daughter, Donna Kaye Fuqua, her brothers Melvin and Roger and her sisters Annie and Arlene.
A celebration of life service will be held 10:00 am, Thursday, December 19, 2024 at New Beginning Tabernacle, 1886 S. Coolwell Road, Madison Heights, VA 24572, Pastor Gary Moore will be officiating. Burial will follow at Briarwood Memorial Garden, Amherst, VA.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at Whitten Monelison Chapel, Madison Heights, VA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Beginning Tabernacle.
