She was born in Lynchburg on October 22, 1935, daughter of the late Lawson and Bethel Campbell.
Lovie was a good Christian lady who enjoyed birds, crafting and the mountains. She not only enjoyed cooking but was very good at it as her family and all who knew her will attest.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Arnold Ray Phillips, Sr.; a son, Arnold Phillips, Jr.; a grandson, Jeremy Phillips and nine siblings, Kinkle Campbell, Lloyd Campbell, Howard Campbell, Gordon Campbell, George Campbell, Erma Goff, Eunice Hawkins, Bessie Childress, and Mac Campbell.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sharon P. Brown (Warren); daughter in law, Debbie Phillips; two grandchildren, Cristina Phillips (Billy) and Jonathan Phillips; two great grandchildren, Mia and Evie and a sister, Jean Hudson (Winston).
The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 12:50 pm on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Whitten Monelison Chapel where a Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm officiated by Pastor Roger Childress. Burial will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family has requested as Lovie would want it, that those attending the service dress casually.
