Lisa was a charter member of Temple Baptist Church and Temple Christian School, and attended Lynchburg Christian Academy and Lynchburg Baptist College. For several years she worked in local businesses, the last being First Virginia Bank in Madison Heights, where she continued to work, after her marriage to Aubrey Wayne Stanley, Shop Supervisor at S&S Machine, Inc. in Madison Heights.
Lisa was very happy and busy as a devoted wife and mother, and was very involved in the education of her son, Adam Wayne Stanley, in Amherst County Schools, Lynchburg College, and Liberty University School of Law, now an Attorney in the Lynchburg Public Defender’s Office.
After the birth of her second son, Brandon Wayne Stanley, she devoted full-time to her family and particularly enjoyed working with the Special Ed children in the schools he attended.
In addition to her husband and sons, Lisa is survived by her mother and stepfather, Betty and Charles Esterline; her brother, Michael Layne; father, Kenneth Layne; aunt and uncle, Gail and Ronnie Wright; her cousins, Michelle Wright, Randy Wright, David Wright, Derek Wright, Zach Armstrong, Ally Armstrong, and Megan Wright; her mother-in-law, Eve Stanley; her sister-in-law, Teresa Carr; nephews and nieces, Ricky Holloran, Kimberly Holloran and Destiny Dewilliams and Lisa’s special friend, Tracy Ferguson.
Lisa will still live on in the hearts and minds of the loving family she left behind. Her passing makes Heaven a little sweeter for them all.
The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m., Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Whitten Monelison Chapel in Madison Heights.
There will be a private graveside service at Briarwood Memorial Gardens in Amherst County, conducted by the Rev. Charles Esterline.
