Kenneth "Bub" Brooks was a vibrant soul who found immense joy in various aspects of life. His passions were as diverse as they were heartfelt. Bub had an unwavering enthusiasm for NASCAR, relishing every race with intensity. He was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, his unwavering loyalty to the team shining through in every game. Whether in victory or defeat, Bub’s passionate cheers showcased his deep love for the game. In his earlier years, Bub owned and operated Bub's Body Shop, where his remarkable skills in refurbishing vehicles earned him a reputation that stretched far and wide. People would travel great distances to seek his expertise in getting their vehicles back on the road, a testament to his craftsmanship. Later, he embarked on a cross-country journey as a truck driver for Owens Trucking, traversing the nation's highways and sharing captivating tales of his adventures upon his return. Bub had an enduring love for the great outdoors, finding solace in hunting and fishing, often immersing himself in the natural world's beauty. Above all, Bub's faith was a cornerstone of his life, as he faithfully attended Spout Spring Baptist Church. He was a man of multifaceted talents, a warm smile, and an unyielding love for the outdoors. Kenneth "Bub" Brooks will be forever cherished and remembered for the depth of his passions and the warmth of his heart.
In addition to his parents, Bub was preceded in death by two of his sisters Betty Gayle Brooks, and Bonnie Brooks Ayers.
Those left to cherish Bub’s memory include his other two sisters, Rebecca “Becky” Lipscomb, and Barbara Stinnette; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Pastor Jeff Slaughter officiating.
