Born in Lynchburg, May 4, 1959, he was the son of the late Coy O. Neighbors and Elizabeth June Caudill Neighbors. Ken was a retired firefighter from the Lynchburg Fire Department with 30 years of service. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was also an avid baseball fan, and enjoyed watching his sons play and the Baltimore Orioles.
He is survived by four children, Justin O’Farrell Neighbors and his wife Lindsay of Madison Heights, Tabitha Camden and her husband Brett of Las Vegas, NV, Dylan Grey Neighbors and Hunter Burke Neighbors both of Lynchburg; one brother, Kevin Coy Neighbors and his wife Lisa of Madison Heights; two granddaughters, Addyson Alaska Neighbors and Luna Lee Camden; his fiancée of 13 years, Mitzi Haynes Whitten and her children, Tyler Whitten, Brandon Whitten and Hannah Whitten all of Madison Heights and his beloved dogs, Bo Willie and LuLu.
A graveside service celebrating Ken’s life will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2018 at Virginia Memorial Park with Celebrant Polly Starnes officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
