Born March 3, 1947 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Howard Samuels Lacks and Lottie Elizabeth Creel Berry. She was a self-employed hair stylist and was a member of Amelon United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband, Jo Ann is survived by two sons, Richard F. Doyle, Sr. and wife Lovey of Lynchburg and Kevin S. Doyle of Madison Heights and his fiancée Michelle Millner; one brother, Howard F. Lacks and wife Jeanette of Lynchburg; four grandchildren, Jessica Lynn Doyle, Richard F. Doyle, Jr., and wife Sarah, Josh Doyle, and Samuel Doyle and four great-grandchildren.
A service to celebrate Jo Ann’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Amelon U.M. Church with Pastor Mark Tinsley officiating. Interment will follow at Briarwood Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the church, prior to the service, from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
Due to Covid-19 and for everyone’s safety, everyone is encouraged to wear a mask and maintain social distancing at all services.
