She was born February 12, 1939 in her beloved Albertville, Alabama. Her family eventually moved to Lynchburg where she met her husband of 60 years, Ronald Wright. Together they had four children and four grandchildren.
After raising her children, Gail decided to pursue her lifelong goal of nursing and obtained her LPN degree and worked in healthcare. Soon she turned her hobby of antiquing into a business at the Peddler Antique store before opening her own store Mountain Meadow Antiques in Forest. Gail and her husband also own Wright Properties and they also formerly owned Boonsboro Barber Shop.
Her constant desire to learn something new had her taking piano lessons, art lessons, and professional photography classes. She won several awards for her photographs of her twin boys. She also loved gathering information about her family’s history which included members of the first permanent English settlement Jamestown, Virginia. She was especially proud of her relative in England that oversaw the translation of the King James Bible for King James himself.
Her home became a favorite gathering place for all of her children’s friends. She will be remembered by all who knew her as a caring Christian woman who encouraged others and loved her family.
She leaves behind her husband Ronnie Wright, her children Randy Wright of Lynchburg, Michelle Wright of Pittsburgh, PA, David Wright of Lynchburg, and Derek Wright and his wife, Roxane, of Pittsburgh, PA. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Zachary Armstrong, Allison Armstrong, Megan Wright and Jordan Reaves Wright. She also leaves her cherished sister and best friend Betty Esterline, niece and nephews and her dog Bo.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Ceasar and Nellie Ruth “Tommie” Amberson Reaves, her brothers Bobby “Mickey” Reaves and Jimmy Reaves, and her beloved niece Lisa Stanley.
In lieu of sending flowers please consider planting some purple iris, Gail’s favorites, and think of her each year when they bloom as her memory lives on.
