Born on October 5, 1925 in Giles County, she was the daughter of the late W.S. and Eleanor McConnell. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Calvin T. Martin; sisters, Betty McConnell Lamm and Faye Logan; and one brother, Benjamin McConnell.
Eula was a humble, giving, loving, and selfless woman. She was a servant. She served her family, Church, friends, community, strangers; and, if she had any enemies I’m sure she served them also. Above all she served her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She gave her ALL--time, finances, love, energy, and talents. She gave it all to glorify her God.
John 12:26 says “If any man serve me, let him follow me; and, where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honor”. I’m sure Eula is in Heaven with Jesus still worshiping, praising, serving and being honored.
Family members left to cherish Eula's memory include her son C.T. Martin II, four grandchildren, Carrie Collins of Hilton Head, S.C., Christine Brodhagen, Peter Martin and Jeffrey Martin; three great-grandchildren, Martha and Sallie Collins and Aiden Martin; brothers, Willis Winthrop McConnell, Jerry McConnell, Jimmy McConnell, George McConnell; sisters, Peggy McConnell Fox, Martha McConnell Burgess; niece, Margaret Logwood; two nephews, Carroll T. Mitchell and Louis Proffitt.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Monroe, followed by a Celebration of Life starting at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Glenn Coleman officiating. Burial will follow the service at Presbyterian Cemetery.
