Elsie Mae Wiggington

Elsie Mae Wiggington, 46, of Amherst, passed away peacefully in Amherst County. Born on April 20, 1978, in Richmond, she was the cherished daughter of Dennis Helmick of Farmville and the late Annie Mae Crews Seal. Elsie was a proud graduate of the Centra School of Nursing and dedicated over 28 years to her nursing career. Her most recent role was as the Director of Nursing at Fairmont Crossing Health and Rehab, where her compassion and commitment to patient care made a lasting impact. Elsie was not only a devoted professional but also a loving mother and grandmother. She found immense joy in her role as a grandmother, playing an active and supportive role in the lives of D’mitri Harrison and Zaidyn Rucker. Her love extended deeply to her children, Sativa Rucker and Carllito Rucker She is also survived by her three sisters, Elizabeth Helmick, Mary Jordan, and Victoria Seal; her three brothers, Raymond Crews, James Knight, and Michael Knight; and her foster sister, Tracey Coleman, and to the father of her children, Troy Rucker. Each member of her family will miss her dearly and cherish the memories they shared. A celebration of Elsie’s life and services will be announced at a later date. Her memory will be lovingly preserved in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
