Elaine Mayberry Jones

Elaine Mayberry Jones, age 67, of Madison Heights, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2023. She was the wife of the late Donald Ray Jones, Sr. Born November 14, 1955 in Vallejo, California, she was the daughter of the late Cecil Mayberry, Sr. and the late Virginia Dunn Mayberry. She was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Dudley, Jr. Elaine is survived by daughter Rakita Jones and son Robert. Also surviving are four brothers; Cecil Mayberry, Jr. of Madison Heights, Donald Mayberry, Kenneth Wayne Dunn of North Carolina, and Kent Mayberry (Trena) of Salt Lake City, Utah. She is also survived by one grandson, Justin Dudley and wife Ashley, four great-granddaughters and one great-grandson, as well as her two special fur babies; Coco and Twinkie. Elaine spent 30 years as a mortgage loan officer and for over 20 years served as a foster parent to numerous children. She enjoyed camping and spending time at baseball and softball games watching her children and grandchildren. Elaine was a member of Thomas Terrace Church for over 15 years. A graveside service will be conducted at Cumbie Memorial Cemetery, 286 Rocky Road, Rustburg, VA with Pastor Mark Grooms officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Elaine's memory can be made to the Rakita Jones Scholarship Fund at Bank of the James, 4698 S. Amherst Highway, Madison Heights, VA 24572.
