She was the wife of the late Joseph Samuel Millner. Edith was born July 19, 1938 in Amherst County, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Arthur Mae Floyd and the late Eliza Jane Martin Floyd.
In her earlier years Edith worked at Lynchburg Hosiery Mill and retired from Lynchburg Foundry. She thoroughly enjoyed being a homemaker, spending time with the love of her life, and taking care of her family. She enjoyed reading her Bible and witnessing to everyone about our wonderful, amazing Savior Jesus Christ wherever she would go. She never wanted to miss that opportunity of helping to lead someone to Christ. She was known by many from Eternal Baptist Church and was a member of Amazing Grace Ministries. She enjoyed singing and being physically in GOD'S house up until her devastating diagnosis of Dementia in 2013. She spent her last several years courageously fighting her battle with Dementia and MDS.
In addition to her husband and parents, Edith was preceded in death by six siblings; Henry Floyd, Warren Floyd, Arthur Floyd, Irene Staton Shrader, Nora Floyd, and Rosa Vest; a granddaughter Rebecca Stanley Adams, and a son-in-law Richard Chapman.
Edith is survived by three daughters; Elizabeth (Liz) Chapman of Lynchburg, Linda Stanley (Leroy) of Lynchburg, and Janet Tidwell (Kenny) of Madison Heights; four grandchildren; Meredith Chapman, Samantha Rice (Wayne), Geoff Cash (Courtney), and William "Leroy" Stanley III; seven great-grandchildren; Nathan Rice and fiancee Casey Jennings, Chris Rice, Kaya Rice, Amber Phillips, Jacob Phillips, Collin Cash, and Alexander "Xander" Cash - all of whom she loved unconditionally. Also a very special friend and sister in Christ, Faye Campbell O'Brien, and her sweet mother Eleanor Campbell.
She had been a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and special friend, but overall and beyond a Child of the King!!
She will be greatly missed, but we are not saying, "goodbye". Instead we are saying we will see you later because those of us who are saved and know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior will see her again one day. WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!! GO REST HIGH ON THAT MOUNTAIN!!! OUR LOSS IS HEAVEN'S GAIN!!!
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 10, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Whitten Monelison Chapel, 3966 South Amherst Highway, Madison Heights, Virginia 24572.
