She was born on November 12, 1951, in Lynchburg and was the daughter of the late John W. Epperson and Louise W. Epperson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Andrew Fitch Henson, Sr.; daughter, Lindsay Elizabeth Henson; brother, Bobby Epperson; and companion John Hooten.
Diane graduated from E.C. Glass High School in 1970. She worked as a pre-school teacher for many years and retired from Teaching Little Christians in Madison Heights. She was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Friend. Diane enjoyed listening to live music and spending time with her two best girlfriends, Ellen Morcom and Sue Scranton. She also enjoyed going to the beach, and one of her favorite spots was Pawley’s Island, SC.
Diane is survived by her son, Andy Henson and wife Heather; grandson Halen; step-granddaughter Jaimee West; grand-dog Mojo; special cousins June Williams and Judy Reynolds; and numerous friends and family.
Although we are devastated to lose such an important person in our lives, we take solace in knowing she is now with Fitch and Lindsay and watching over us from Heaven.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 19, 2022, from 6-8 p.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel, 3966 S. Amherst Highway, Madison Heights, VA, 24572.
