Born June 25, 1944 in Campbell County, she was the daughter of the late Henry Bargamin Angus and Ruby Stratton Angus. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Henry “Jack” Angus, Odell Angus, Davis Angus, and James Angus; two sisters, Mary McGuire and Roselle Martin; and three nephews, Reginald Angus, Stephen Angus, and Larry Angus.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Carwile is survived by her daughter, Ashley Carwile of Madison Heights: her son, Jason Carwile and wife Christie of Hardy; a sister, Beverly A. Wright and husband Sammy of Piney River; two grandchildren, Evan Carwile and Erin Carwile; 19 nieces, 14 nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Carwile graduated from Boonsboro High School in 1962, where she played volleyball and basketball. She was a retired Laboratory Receptionist with Lynchburg General Hospital. She was a member of Monroe United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday, April 26, 2024, at Whitten Monelison Chapel and other times at the residence.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Fort Hill Memorial Park with Estelle Holt, officiating. Following the graveside, a gathering for family and friends will be held, at the home.
Because of her love for dogs, the family asks that, in lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution to the ASPCA or your local no-kill animal shelter.
