Born October 2, 1931, in Jackson Michigan, he was the son of the late V.C. and Mildred Holmes Ladd.
Mr. Ladd proudly served his country in the Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of Temple Baptist church, in Madison Heights.
Survivors also include a sister, Beverly L. Duffield, of Ovid, MI; a niece, two nephews, and one very special nephew, Michael Duffield, who has been a source of strength and comfort for us during this difficult time.
The family would like to thank his care givers, April Carter, and Joan Campbell, as well as many friends and family who lovingly supported him through his illness. Also, the caring friends from Gentle Shepherd Hospice, who visited each week with words of comfort and strength, and a special nurse, Vicki Bailey, with Hospice of the Hills.
The family will receive friends starting at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
A graveside service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, at the Amherst Cemetery, by the Rev. J.D. Surbaugh Jr., and assistant Pastor Steve Esterline, officiating.
