Charlotte Gennett Hartless Lee, 81 of Madison Heights, passed away Monday, November 19, 2012 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the devoted wife of the late Alonza Samuel Lee for sixty years. Mr. and Mrs. Lee celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on August 18, 2012.
Born May 11, 1931 in Nelson County, she was the daughter of the late Anderson Hester and Elsie Morzell Dillard Hartless and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Anderson Hartless and James Malcolm Hartless. She was a graduate of Holy Cross High School and Phillips Business School. Mrs. Lee spent her business life in secretarial and clerical work and retired from Fidelity Bank in Lynchburg. She was a member of Unity of the Seven Hills Church.
Mrs. Lee is survived by three daughters, Lynn Lee Glasser and husband Richard of Alliance, OH, Sandra Lee Pruitt of Lynchburg and Theresa Lee Brennan and husband Daniel of Wake Forest, NC; three grandchildren, Alexander Lee Morris, Anna Lee Brennan, and Natalie Marie Pruitt.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 23, 2012 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with the Rev. C. Randall Harlow officiating.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
