Charles Edward Roberts

Charles Edward Roberts, 87, of Madison Heights passed away Saturday, May 22, 2021, at The Elms. He was the husband of the late Shelby Harris Roberts. Born April 14, 1934, in Madison Heights, he was the son of the late Fletcher Alexander Roberts and the late Floy Warner Roberts.

Charles was a retired machine operator for Belvac and a founding member of Temple Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife and parents, Charles was preceded in death by five siblings: Maurice, Paul, James, Marie and William; and a great grandson, Matthias Job Roberts.

Charles is survived by two sons, Larry Roberts and his wife Linda of Madison Heights and Rev. Jay Roberts and his wife Elizabeth of Madison Heights; one foster daughter, Shamema Stone of Washington; three grandchildren, James Edward Roberts and his wife Shannon, Christopher Dale Roberts and his wife Catherine and Kerri Roberts Bolt and her husband Christopher; nine great grandchildren; and other loving family members and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. J.D. Surbaugh officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Temple Baptist Church.
