Bertha Ellington Moreland

Bertha Ellington Moreland, 87 of Madison Heights, widow of Jackie Leslie Moreland, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at her home. She was born in Montvale on September 14, 1934, daughter of the late Wallace Henry Ellington and the late Mable Johnson Ellington. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Shelia Moreland; two brothers, C. Ray Ellington and Wallace Henry Ellington and two sisters, Virginia Viola Ellington and Dorothy May Ellington. Bertha was retired from Hardees and had worked for K-Mart for 23 years as well. Survivors include five children, Leslie R. Moreland and his wife Kathy, Curtis G. Moreland and his wife Joyce, Betty M. Neas, Theresa M. Nichols and her husband Mark, and Darryl W. Moreland. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren and Terri Culbertson her granddaughter/daughter that she raised. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at Whitten Monelison Chapel. A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, July 18, 2022 at Whitten Monelison Chapel. Interment will follow at Meade Cemetery.
