Anthony "Tony" Edward Humphrey

Born on August 2, 1957, in Baltimore, Md., he was the son of the late John Hansford Humphrey and Virgie Virginia Tomlin Humphrey. Tony worked at Georgia Pacific. He had a kind, gentle, and easy going spirit about him and his laugh was one of a kind. He enjoyed watching the Washington Redskins and had a special bond with his granddaughter. He was truly loved by his wife and family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Rylan Humphrey; and a brother, Johnnie Humphrey.

Tony is survived by his wife, Gail Humphrey; daughter, Jessica Humphrey; granddaughter, Ava Humphrey; brothers, Thomas Humphrey and wife, Elizabeth, Robert Humphrey, and Timothy Humphrey; sister, Rachel Sowa and husband, Steve; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Monday, December 4, 2017, at Whitten Monelison Chapel.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Minister Cynthia Branham officiating. Interment will follow at St. Paul’s Episcopal Cemetery.
