I knew Ann through an internet chat room where she was known as "christianskeptic" and later as "Sienna". She was a font of knowledge, insightful and compassionate. I met her and Neil personally on several occasions. What a wonderful woman.

Thetha and family,  your mom was a great friend of mines. I was made aware of her homegoing on Tuesday.  It saddens me that I couldn't say 'see you later my friend'.

I was sadden to learn of Ann's passing. She was one of my teachers at Phillips Business College. Later we reconnected through her love of dolls.  I spent time making dolls with her and even went with Neil to enter the dolls in the show at the Virginia State Fair. And a very funny lady!
I know she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

I am so saddened to learn of Ann's death. Ann & Neil were wonderful friends to me and later my husband through many long years. I met both of them 45 years ago when I played the organ at their church. When I would return from wherever I was living and give them a call, after a few sentences Ann would always say "when are you coming over?" Neil would get on the other phone and both of them would always make me feel truly appreciated and welcome. 

Ann was well read and knowledgeable on many subjects and once we started talking I kept them awake for hours on endless subjects, but Ann was always patient and made me feel what I was saying was the most important thing in the world. 

Ann was always a giving person, kind hearted and supportive-knowing the right words to say because it came from her heart. She was welcoming to friends and strangers alike. 

Theta, my heartfelt  condolences to you and your family for the loss of your wonderful mother. She was a great human being who always put others' needs above her own. Her unique kindness and hospitality both your parents showed me over a sustained period of time will never be forgotten. 

I think Maya Angelou's words well describe Ann's life: I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel. Ann made everybody feel valued and appreciated.

It should be noted that in addition to being a wonderfully kind human being, Ann was an intellectual who had a wide range of interests, a trait she inherited from her parents. She was thoughtful and insightful and wrote beautifully crafted letters to the editor.  She was an ideal match for Neil, whose own varied interests included nuclear physics and organ and vocal performance.  Knowing Ann was a blessing.  My sincere condolences to Theta, Troi and their family.
