It is with great sadness that the family of Richard A. Collins announces his passing on Thursday March 23, 2023, at the age of 68. He died unexpectedly in a traffic accident in Pulaski County, Illinois.
Rick was a straight up, one-of-a-kind, very generous man who loved his family deeply. His friends and family will surely miss his quick wit and profound sense of humor.
Richard was born on October 14, 1954, to proud parents Myrcil and Harold Collins in Detroit MI. He was the 4th born son of 6 boys. After graduating from Bishop Foley high school in 1972 he went on to study at Northern Michigan University. Of the many highlights of college, his most cherished memories are that of playing on the NMU hockey team. Upon graduating college, Rick spent most of his career in Construction Sales. In the last ten years, being an avid driver, he decided to pursue truck driving.
Rick is survived by his wife of 41 years, Linda (Bertolini), Sean (Leanne Andali)Collins, Kevin (Jeanna Baroli)Collins, and Kristen Collins. Proud Grandpa to Violet, Lucia, Fiona, and Max. He was very much looking forward to another grandchild being born in October. He is also survived by brothers Mike, Steve (the late Patti), Greg, and Patrick. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother Kevin (Heather).
Visitation will be held Tuesday April 11,2023 from 3:00pm-8:00pm with a rosary at 7:00 pm. At Edward Swanson & Son Funeral Home 30351 Dequindre Rd., Madison Heights, Michigan 48071.
