With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Natalie Ruth McIntyre of Madison Heights, Michigan on February 10, 2024. She was kind, caring, smart, generous, and funny, Mom, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Aunt, and Friend.
Natalie was born on October 18, 1931 to Steve and Helen (Rac) Zrnich in Detroit, Michigan and spent her early years living in both Detroit and Imlay City. She started living on her own at 16 while working at Woolworths, J.L. Hudson and Michigan Mutual Insurance where her job as supervisor brought her great joy and validation. She valued working hard and was fiercely independent. She married the love of her life, Glenn E. McIntyre, became a homemaker and together they raised five strong children. Natalie was a tireless room mother, scout leader, and active in her church as a deacon, women’s group leader, community service project coordinator, and bookkeeper. She was the quintessential Kool-Aid mom, and her door was always open to anyone in need. Along with being a mom, she was an aunt, who treasured her nieces and nephews.
Natalie will be greatly missed and remembered by her children Barb McIntyre, Donna (Ron) Guernsey, Glenn (Snezana) McIntyre, Kenn (Nada) McIntyre, and Darryl (Judy) McIntyre. She loved attending all her children's and grandchildren’s sporting and performing events. She did her best to make them feel special and loved. She happily cheered on her grandchildren, Cris (Liz) McIntyre, Quinn (Julia) Guernsey, Mel (Adam) Godoisik, Kelsey Guernsey, Adrianna (Nick Blake) McIntyre, David (Angela) McIntyre and Cara Guernsey. Her youngest two grandchildren, Nicole and Colin McIntyre were a special blessing when Mom had to suddenly navigate life without her loving husband in 1996. The great-grandchildren Zoe, Eddie, Betsie, Aria, Owen, James, and Milan brought more smiles and joy to her later life.
Natalie was predeceased by her siblings Alexander (Florence), Steve (Geneva), Helen, Mary, Christine, Julie, and Mabel; her parents, and her loving husband, Glenn E. McIntyre.
