Geary was married to Naida Frandle July 11th, 1970, and although their marriage did not last beyond 21 years, they would both agree that without them there wouldn’t be their three children Shannon, Shawn and Sarah nor their three grandchildren Zane, Jacob and Emily. Geary built a very special bond with his son in law Steve as they both loved classic cars and they both truly cared for each other. He was best of friends with his brother in law Mark, Mark would take Geary shopping and have him over for dinner.
Geary worked at General Motors for 36 years on the assembly line that spanned from 1969, to his retirement in 2005. In 2004 he was awarded with a Certificate of Excellence and Quality Fanatic Award at the Livonia Engine Plant for his discovery of an engine defect.
He was entertained by playing the lottery and attending what once was the Hazel Park Raceway to bet on horses. Geary enjoyed going on walks, bird watching and feeding squirrels. He loved fishing, his favorite place to fish and go on picnics was Algonac State Park. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a contagious smile. He was an amazing storyteller and really good at drawing. He loved black licorice, German chocolate cake, sardines and a delicious chicken dinner. He was very giving; you couldn’t leave after visiting him without some sort of treasure. He loved Jesus, he loved his family and his children and grandchildren so very much and was so very proud of all of them. He will be deeply missed by all of us who loved him.
Geary is survived by his three children, Shannon (Steve) Fisher, Shawn Lambert, and Sarah (Dan) Davis; Grandchildren Zane Fisher, Jacob Fields, and Emily Davis; and sisters Jan Wrobel, Debbie (Greg) Wright, Maria (Terry) Adrian, Sharon (Mark) Swope, Barbara (Ray) Chyla, and Joan (Chuck) Hopkins.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Michael Lambert, John Lambert, and Steven Lambert.
A memorial visitation for Geary will be held Monday, November 11, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM with a Memorial Service at 5:00 PM at Edward Swanson & Son Funeral Home, 30351 Dequindre Rd, Madison Heights, Michigan 48071.
