Our love and prayers are with Don's family. Don will always have a special place in our hearts and memories.  We are thankful that he touched our lives in such a warm and positive way.  We had more fun and laughing was a given when Don was with us at the Lamphere band events and competitions.   Our faces and stomach would hurt every time he was around. My heart goes out to Jean, Debra and my dearest Sherry Nagel.  I am so sorry about the death of your wonderful father and husband.  Your family is so very special to me.  I love the Lamphere Schools and everything associated with them and Don was a fixture at Lamphere.  He was always so supportive of the system and the students in it.  I love Sherry Nagel because I taught her choir all of her years at Lamphere High School.  Whenever we had a concert , Mr. & Mrs. Nagel were always present and supportive.  I am praying for your family and thinking of you.

I was teaching ceramics in the basement during one of the float parties and Don came down.  In literally seconds he had all the ladies laughing to tears.  They talked about him for weeks.  I've remembered him for years.  Arleen Cappatocio

I knew Don when my girls went to Lamphere. I worked with him with the Athletic Boosters. He was always smiling and laughing. It seemed like he knew every child by name. Everyone who knew Don, loved him. He will be truly missed.  My thoughts and prayers are with the Nagel family.

Though I hadn't seen Don since my girls graduated from Lamphere, I have thought of him.  I enjoyed working with him at school events.  He was always a fun person, always brightening my life with a laugh.  The world will be a sadder place with out Don.

I was shocked and very sad to hear of Mr. Nagels passing. He was such a wonderful man. When I graduated from Lamphere in 1991 he was there on the stage as a board member, he made sure he was the one to hand me my diploma!  He had this way of making everyone feel special and so loved, almost like you were one of his own children! Over the years I have been fortunate to see him through my Dads involvement in the Lions Club & at the Benefit Office at the Electrical workers where he paid me a visit from time to time. He was always genuinely interested in how I was doing and how my boys were & if my husband was treating me right! Lol I'm so glad I was one of many to have met you and call you a friend. I will miss your visits, your bubbly personality, and that contagious smile! Heaven gained a true Angel.

Don will always be remembers as a kind, gentle, warm, cheerful and loving soul we will all so greatly miss. He always was a great presence as a friend, member of our schools and a member of many local organizations throughout the community.  He will be greatly missed by so many.  We meet Don and Jean years ago when we first moved to Madison Heights, our girls went to school together, and we lived just 2 blks apart. I will always remember the fun times we had having Don be our Santa Clause at our Jaycee Christmas Parties.  He was a true friend to all and cared about all our children just as much as his girls, as he served on the M.H. school board for years, not to forget the years in our Lion's Club also.  The year he was President of the M.H. Community Round Table, was the year we were filled with laughter, as Don always made a everyone feel welcome in the group.  You will truly be missed Don, we all loved you who knew you. Diane and Bill Follis former M.H. residence

We are so saddened by the news.  Don always had a friendly hello for everyone and anyone!  He was able to bring a smile to your face.  We will miss him as a dear neighbor.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.

I will never forget his always smiling face. It was always a joy to work band camp with Don. His "voice of the Lamphere Marching Band" will always be remembered. A kind and funny man who always had a joke to tell. Rest in peace Don and know you are missed by so many.

It can be so hard to face this time without your loved one, but the love of family and friends can carry you through. Let us be the strength that gives you courage to heal.
