Dave, a devoted husband of 48 years to Gina and a cherished father to three children, their love story unfolded when they met at the Royal Oak Theater. A diligent carpenter for 45 years, he exemplified hard work. Retiring in 2017, he moved to North Lake to enjoy the peace and quiet of lake life.
His commitment to family was unwavering, as a loving husband, father and remarkable papa. His qualities of humility, kindness, patience, and an unforgettable presence touched the lives of all who knew him. Beyond family, he was a dutiful son to his mother, creating lasting bonds through shared moments.
A sports enthusiast, Dave's heart belonged to baseball, passionately cheering for the Tigers. His love for the game extended to coaching little league, and memorable journeys, visiting ballparks across the country with his family. Known affectionately as "the mayor" Dave's amiable nature made him a loyal friend. His ability to forge connections was unparalleled, leaving an incredible mark on everyone he encountered. May his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who were fortunate to know him.
Dave was a beloved husband to Gina Barber; a loving father to Amy (Nicholas) Acosta, David (Kate) Barber Jr. & Jacob (Katie) Barber; Cherished Papa to Caleb, Niko, Lucas, Noah, Bruce, Nash, Natalie, Noelle, Lily, Jacob, Beckett, Mia & Claire, a treasured brother to Ben (Diana) Barber III, Carol (the late Jack) Tracy, Matthew Barber (Tracey Maxwell) & Sally (Tom) Walsh along with many nieces and nephews. Dave will also be greatly missed by his 4 legged pup, Winnie.
