Chester Majcherek of Sterling Heights, Michigan at the age of 98, he went to heaven to be with his late wife Lottie. Loving father of John (Maria) Majcherek, Carol Majcherek and David Majcherek. Grandfather of Melissa. Brother of the late Joseph Majcherek, the late Eleanor Fililpac, the late Jennie Nagel and the late Irene Szymanski. Chester was drafted into the Army at age 18, he became a Master Sargent in the Signal Corps, landing on Utah Beach during WW II, Normandy Invasion. Chester spent the next four war years marching through Europe, ending at the Bukenwald Concentration Camp in Belgium. While away, the Red Cross delivered word to him that his mother Kathrine died in 1942 and then his father John passed in 1945. Returning home he became a tool and die maker until his retirement in 1966. Chester crafted wooden furniture, including frames for his many completed jigsaw puzzles. He enjoyed watching John Wayne movies, "Walker Texas Ranger" episodes and the Detroit Tigers. He was fondly known as Uncle Chet to many nieces, nephews and other extended family members. Visitation will be held on Friday November 2, 2018 from 2:30 - 8:00 p.m. with funeral services on Saturday November 3rd, 2018 11:00 a.m. Edward Swanson & Son Funeral Home 30351 Dequindre Madison Heights, Michigan.
