Born on November 2, 1961, he was the second child of the late Cosmo “Buddy” and Anne (Van Der Maelen) Esposito of Wallingford, CT. A graduate of Lyman Hall High School, he went on to UMASS Amherst, where he majored in Fish and Wildlife Biology and met his wife of 32 years, the late Margaret Esposito (Palumbo) of Fall River, MA.
Tom was fascinated by the science of the natural world and spent over 30 years helping to provide clean drinking water to the residents of his town. After becoming Assistant Superintendent, he retired in January.
He was a member of the Indian Neck Yacht Club in Branford and loved nothing more than to spend sunny days on the Long Island Sound fishing for his dinner. At the annual Flag Day celebration, you could find him shucking oysters and clams for his fellow club members and their families. Most nights, and rainy days, you could find him sitting next to his wife in matching recliners watching Jeopardy, completing innumerable crosswords, reading gory detective fiction, or rooting for his beloved NY Giants.
Tom and Margaret loved each other deeply; they enjoyed traveling together to anywhere they could find a beach and making one another giggle while they soaked up the sun. Together, they raised two daughters, Elizabeth (Christopher Hulk) and Anna Esposito. In addition to his daughters, he is survived by his mother, uncle, Michael (Peggy) Esposito, aunts Barbara Valiatis and Jean Van Der Malaen, and siblings, Michael (Cheryl) Esposito, Daniel Esposito, and Jeanne Esposito, as well as many loving friends, in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at on Saturday June 10th from 11 am to 12:30 pm, followed by a service at 12:30 at the Swan Funeral Home, 825 Boston Post Rd Madison, CT.
