It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Michael William Cox on Oct 22, 2022. Born April 11, 1989 in New Haven, Ct., Michael was raised in Guilford. A graduate of Guilford High school where he excelled at football, being a great friend and always sticking up for the underdog. Michael loved his Mets, Dolphins and Sunday golf with Uncle John and cousin Junie.
After high school Michael first attended Curry College where he continued his football career. Later graduating from Porter and Chester Institute. For the last several years he has been helping run the family business his grandfather started, J & J Blasting Corp.
Like many, Michael had faced trials and tribulations in his short life but had worked hard to conquer them. A big man with an even bigger smile, he had an amazing work ethic, was incredibly talented, full of joy and always hilarious. He did anything and everything for his family and friends, or anyone down on their luck. Michael found peace and joy in fishing and being with his fishing buddies.
There are truly no words to explain what an incredible son, brother, uncle and father Michael was. He gave far more than he ever took. Michael is irreplaceable and unforgettable.
Michael leaves behind his greatest love of all, his beautiful son Michael Ian Cox. He also is survived by heartbroken parents Lyn and Jerry, his two very best friends, his sisters, Amanda (Steven Ortiz) and Corrine (Matthew Dittman), the nieces he played with every day who adored their “Unc Mike”, Finley and Jacquelyn, his cherished girlfriend Carey Perrotti, the Grandmothers he treasured, Jackie Fasulo and Lola Cox, aunts and uncles Connie Costanza, Jill (Bill) Ryan, Sandy (Jack) Carpenter, John (Dulce) Fasulo, Bill (Josie) Cox, Cathe Cox, Michelle and Jerry Blair, Shannon Gordon, Aunt Mare and the entire Salatto family.
