Benedict A. Schiraldi Sr., 86, of Madison, and formerly of Seaford, Long Island, died at Branford Hospice on December 18th. He was born on August 12, 1929 in Brooklyn, New York, the son of Nicolantonio and Pasqua Schiraldi.
Mr. Schiraldi received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Long Island University and received his law degree from Brooklyn Law School. In the 1960’s, Mr. Schiraldi was a Special Investigator for the United States Treasury Department. In the 1970’s, he served as an Assistant District Attorney in Nassau County, New York. Later, he was appointed an Assistant Attorney General for the State of New York. In the 1980’s, he was appointed an Administrative Law Judge in New York State. Mr. Schiraldi was an avid supporter of the Little Flower Organization of New York for many years. He also volunteered as an ombudsman for the Madison House for many years. In 2013, he and his wife, Camille celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at Café Alegre surrounded by their entire family. They were an inseparable couple and enjoyed traveling around the world and making many friends along the way.
Mr. Schiraldi was predeceased on November 18th by his beloved wife, Camille Schiraldi. He is survived by his loving children, Ben and his wife, Patty of Madison and Diane Vincent of Troy, New York and his brother, Dr. Michael Schiraldi of South Carolina. He is also survived by his devoted grandchildren, Michael, Laura and Christopher Schiraldi of Madison and Edward and Kerri-ann Vincent of Troy, New York.
A private wake and funeral service will be held for the family Wednesday, Dec. 23rd at Swan Funeral Home in Madison, CT. A burial will follow at West Cemetery, Madison.
