She was married to her loving husband Robert A. Jones for 51 years and raised a loving family in Madison, CT. She is survived by her four loving children and twelve grandchildren: Alison Anderson, husband Chris and grandchildren Natalie and David of Marietta, GA; Robert A Jones, wife Nancy and grandchildren Robert Mitchell, Connor, Taylor, Alex and predeceased by Kyla (Wethersfield, CT); David Jones, wife Cindy and grandchildren Madelyne, Lily, and Sawyer of Baltimore, MD; Douglas Jones, wife Fatima and grandchildren Myles, Anne and Ella of Guilford, CT as well as nieces and nephews Allan Sharog, Bill Sharog, Wendy Hopwood, Justin Moseley and Susanne Angiolelli. She is predeceased by her sisters and brother, Vera Waronka, Anne Sharog, Richard Akowchek and Natalie Akowchek, and niece Natalie Moseley.
Alyce graduated from Hillhouse High School in 1945 and Larson College (now Quinnipiac University) in 1947 after which she attended American Airlines Stewardess School in Chicago. She worked for Yale New Haven Hospital as a Medical Secretary in Obstetrics and Gynecology and then for Pratt & Whitney North Haven in the engineering Department where she met her husband Robert.
Alyce was active in many committees as a member of the Madison Congregational Church as well as in the Madison community notably with the Madison Garden Club and Madison Women’s Club. She had a wonderful way with children and will be missed by many whose lives she touched. She loved her family so, and loved being a Mom.
Services will be provided by Swan Funeral Home in Madison on Tuesday November 15th with calling hours from 4pm-7pm and the funeral immediately following. There will be a private family burial on Wednesday.
