Wynelle Ryle, a homemaker, public school teacher and lifelong resident of Macon, GA passed away February 21, 2023 at the age of 91. She was born October 30, 1931 in Macon, GA to Alvin Wilbur O’Quinn, Sr. and Suella Colter O’Quinn.
Wynelle was the first in the family to graduate from college – Mercer University, and she did it in three years by going to school year round while also working almost full-time at Sears Roebuck & Co. At her father’s request, she had agreed to not get married until she graduated from college. She honored that request and was married to Lawrence Clack Ryle, Sr. on March 13, 1952 a few hours after she completed her final exam to graduate from Mercer University with a B.S. Degree in Christian Education.
After starting her family, Wynelle began teaching third grade at W.T. Morgan elementary school where she taught for 20 years before retiring in 1985. Her years of service as a public school teacher impacted many lives. Throughout her retirement years, she enjoyed seeing and visiting with former students whose lives she touched.
Wynelle was a member of Safe Harbor Church in Macon. She served in many ministries. Her life was devoted to her Lord and she was a humble example for all to follow. She lived her beliefs and blessed many lives. She kept a positive attitude regardless of her situation and enjoyed traveling and learning new activities.
Wynelle was preceded in death by her spouse Lawrence Clack Ryle, Sr. on February 20, 1995. On February 20 2023, Wynelle called her four children to say she could be living her last day on earth and was ready to go to heaven. She died in her sleep that night. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Alvin Wilbur O’Quinn, Jr.
Survivors include her four children, Laura Ryle Davis (Keith) of Madison, AL, Lawrence Clack Ryle, Jr. (Janet) of Warner Robins, GA, Marjorie Ryle Howard (Ken) of Rome, GA and James Ryle of Warner Robins; brother, Dr. James Lawton O’Quinn, Sr. of N. Augusta, SC and sister, Carol O’Quinn Long (Alan) of Conyers, GA, and sister-in-law, Anita Kitchens Ryle.
Survivors also include her grandchildren, Theron Davis (Stephanie) of Madison, AL, Eric Davis (Jason Archer) of Asheville, NC, Emily Ryle Moore (Charlie) of Kathleen, GA, Adam Ryle of Warner Robins, Shannon Howard Godfrey (Matt) and Ashley Howard of Rome, GA, Melina Ryle Montgomery (Grant) of Bonaire, GA and Nadia Ryle of Jacksonville, NC. Surviving great grandchildren are Brantley and Owen Davis of Madison, AL, Andrew and Ella Ryle of Warner Robins, Sterling, Daelyn, and Makenley Godfrey of Rome, GA, and Liam and Charli Pike of Jacksonville, NC. Surviving step great grandchildren are Jacob and Katelyn Moore of Warner Robins, GA.
Other survivors include numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends and family on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Snow’s at Macon Memorial Park from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Jeff Powell officiating. Interment will follow at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.
