Macon, GA – Willie V Parrish, 85, passed away on Sunday, December 05, 2010 at Pine Pointe Hospice surrounded by her family. Funeral services and a celebration of her life will be held on Friday, December 10, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Entombment will be in Macon Memorial Park Mausoleum with Rev. John Carroll officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Mrs. Parrish was the daughter of the late Willie Virgil and Rosa Mae Claxton Thigpin, born in Treutlen County and grew up in McRae, Georgia. She is preceded in death by her husband of fifty two years, Lt. Col. Jasper Macon Parrish, Jr. and four sisters and one brother. Mrs. Parrish was a member of First Christian Church; and she will be remembered best as a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Parrish faced her challenges in life with grace, strength, and courage. She was a lifetime member of the Four Seasons Garden Club and enjoyed a wonderful relationship with her family, friends and neighbors.
She is survived by her children, Richard M. (Pam) Parrish of Savannah, Gail P. (Chris) Jones of Macon, Daniel E. Parrish of Macon, six grandchildren, Molly P. McAdams of Charleston, SC, Shelley Parrish and Caroline Parrish of Savannah, Sean Jones of Colorado, Julie Jones of Macon, and Dakota Parrish of Macon, six great grandchildren, Courtney Jones, Kyle Jones, Dylan Jones, Alexis Webb, Joseph Webb and Logan McAdams and several nieces and nephews.
