He served with the National Guard and was a mechanic supervisor retired from Armstrong World Industries after thirty-two years, serving as Chaplain for twenty-five of those years. Brother Gordon had served in the ministry for thirty years. He was a member of Fellowship Evangelistic Church. He was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother, he loved his family and his Lord. He will be missed by those who loved him most….his family…his wife of fifty-seven years, Mildred B. Gordon of Lizella; his son, Neil (Susan) Gordon of Macon; his daughter, Robin (Scott) Smith of Lizella; his beloved grandchildren, Wes (Carol) Gordon, Kristen (Brian) Stone, Brian Gordon, Craig Smith and Chasen Smith; his much adored great grandchildren, Kate Gordon and Brinkley Stone; his brothers, Marshall (Barbara) Gordon, Otis (Margie) Gordon; several nieces and nephews.
Brother Gordon’s family wants to especially thank the wonderful caregivers at Pine Pointe Hospice for being the hands of our Heavenly Father in their gentle and compassionate care during this time. May God bless each of you.
