MACON - William Randal "Randy" McDonald, 82, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at Pine Pointe Hospice Facility. Funeral services and a celebration of his life will be held at 2P.M., Friday at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue with burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Bob Shell will officiate. The family will meet friends from 6:00 until 8 P.M., Thursday at the funeral home and may be contacted the residence of Jackie and Tom King. While flowers are accepted, memorial contributions may be made to Liberty United Methodist Church, 6511 Houston Road, Macon 31216, or to Eatonton Presbyterian Church, 307 North Madison Avenue, Eatonton 31024-1317 or to the American Cancer Society , P. O. Box 4406, Macon 31208.
Mr. McDonald, son of the late Ebb and Cordia Whidden McDonald, was born in Attapulgus, GA and served with the U. S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was an Inventory Manager retired from Robins Air Force Base, was formerly a member of Eatonton Presbyterian Church and presently a member of Liberty United Methodist Church. Mr. McDonald was a Mason for more than fifty years. He was a member of the Macon Motor Boat Club and was a member of many camping clubs. Randy was preceded in death by his daughter Cindy McDonald, by his brother, Donald McDonald and a sister, Mary Alice Overton.
Randy is survived by his wife of sixty-six years, Pat W. McDonald of Macon; his daughter, Jackie (Tom) King of Macon; his grandchildren, Aimee (Danny) Carstarphen and Erin (Brent) Smith, all of Macon and four great granddaughters, Logan, Leah, Emily and Lucy.
