William “Frank” Hackney, 82, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday, July 16, 2018. A celebration of his life will be held Friday, July 20, 2018 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with Dr. John Beck officiating. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 10:00am until the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Powersville United Methodist Church, 245 Lakeview Road, Byron, Georgia 31008 .
Frank was born in Cohutta, Georgia to the late Mose Howard Hackney and May Roberson Hackney and was preceded in death by his son, Curtis Hackney and grandson, Isaac Peters. He was a mechanic for Richardson Truck Line and later co-owned Gray Highway Pawn Shop in Macon. Frank was a member of Powersville United Methodist Church, was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed cooking.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Judy Leaptrot Hackney; children, Angie Peavy, Cyndi (Glenn) Callaway, Tony (Debbie) Hackney and Garrard (Sheila) Peters; grandchildren, Rachel Patton, Michael Atkinson, Tricia Hackney, T.J. (Crystal) Hackney, Tiffany (Jesstin) Mullis, Kevin Yates, Christopher Hackney and Mariah (Danny) Pritchard; great grandchildren, Xander, James, Bryce, Rowan, Lylah, Kohen, Bryson, Lucas, Parker and June; sisters, Jane Taylor and Ruth Cross; and several nieces and nephews.
